So I'm a little unclear as to the purpose of twitspeech. Initially, I thought it was an extension to twitter (more space, etc), however, it's plugged as a twitter follower "finder"? Regardless of how it's promoted, I think there's a LOT of potential for some cool stuff here.

Yes thank you Brandon very much! It is about giving everybody a chance to express themselves or just share something with other twitter members but without twitter noise. Get more visibility and find great twitter users to follow.

I'm sure it's in plans for you guys, but some good searching tools would be great. Maybe some easy searches for users, speech content, popular speeches, etc

Yes of course.. We have more features in plan like search, categorizing etc.. This is just an initial release to see if we can generate some public interest and discover initial system flaws.. So far, the interest is there and we will see where it will take us :)

Thank you Brandon... We need as much input about the system as we can get.. So if you don't like something or you want us to change something or something is simply broken just let us know and we'll see what we can do.. We are also always open for new ideas and suggestions..
